Very expensive bike carrier swap (i.e New car!)

The old bike carrier never looked right - in fact some would say downright wrong!

Here is the new one.

It's an incredible bike. Very confidence inspiring. Stable downhill, jumps well, suspension very forgiving. Most people say best bike they have ever ridden.

Here are the downsides;
Quite a few people have had paint cracks appear, which could indicate carbon issues. YT swap them all but it's a 3 week turn around to Germany. I'm on 2nd frame.

Bos forks tend to creak a bit.

Basically you need to be pretty handy with bike fixing, as bearings need doing regularly and headsets/BB go quick.

Opinion is, still a fantastic bike for price though. Hope this helps

Hi Woppyman,

Out of interest... which Thule bike carrier is that (seems quite compact for a hitch/ball mount)?

I'm thinking about one for my motor - which is hitch ready (I have a tow bar also) or is anything else needed?

ExPat, it's the G6 928. It is very compact and light. Probably the best tow mounted carrier out there. Lift it on and drop the lever - job done!

I wrote a review, just google 'Woppyman halfords'

Halfords look out of stock but other retailers have them. Expect to pay £350-400. Evoque HSE Dynamic

Expat i have the Thule two bike Euro carrier and use it most weekends.. basically fit over tow ball,
tighten to the ratch engages and lock.. plug into black tow socket. I paid $760 at Thule
warehouse near Sydney Airport..

To ensure no scrote nicks the tow ball with carrier and Bike i have bought a lockable pin for
securing the ball to the mount :)

Best rack I've ever owned. They really are worth the money, easy to fit and super stable. I regularly use mine to take my bike 200 miles home on the motorway with no trouble at all.
