What RRS year does this issue affect? I was told by my dealer that the latest shape is affected not the 2010-2013 model.

Your dealer is telling porkies... Then again, how many dealers actually know anything about the product they sell? Not many. Whistle It effects 2009-2013 models.

Thanks for your reply, I will go back to them and ask. I am getting a RRS next week and came across this and alarm bells started to sound!

Have LR devised a solution to this? Or are security screws the only way forward?

Would adding light guards assist as being a deterrent?

The spare wheel is at greater risk of theft. Get a spare wheel protector from Uncle Ray - perhaps get LR to pay for it Thumbs Up

The screws for the lights are pence so chase the £70odd quid for the wheel protector instead Whistle Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Thanks Dr Rob - that was another issue I addressed to LR too.

Fingers crossed they sort something out - with some gentle persuasion!

I would recommend every time you lock the vehicle, DON'T use the remote control. Press the button on the door handle twice and that will set the deadlocks. It will also stop someone grabbing your remote signal if you use your remote key fob. Wink

Cool thanks Ady! Learning something new everyday!

When opening is it best to use the handle again, or is it safe to use the remote?

Is it worth installing an aftermarket alarm?

I always use the door handle to lock and unlock. There is a thread on here somewhere on the subject of aftermarket alarms which disables the ecu which is a good thing as this is what they use to plug in their theft device. Whistle
