I've just recently purchased a range sport and I've got a problem with the gearbox.
I'm getting a shudder in gear 1 to gear 2 and this happens all the time,once it gets past these gears everything is fine but when I'm driving at low speeds this is a big problem as when it picks up the fault the gearbox goes into limp mode and dosent select any gears until i turn ignition off and back on agin,I've plugged the car into a diagnostics computer and it pick up this fault code
p0783
3-4 shift. signal plausibility failure

the oil and filter was changed in feb this year and I've checked the filler plug and the oil is very clean and starts to trickle out when filler plug is removed.

any help is appreciated

Could be one of a few things.

It sounds as though the TC is playing up, as well as either a worn clutch pack, or sticky solenoid in the valve block

hi mate do you have a rough idea of how much this will cost to get it sorted? and does anyone know of anyone that would be able to do this work in the west midlands area?

Went to them on a Volve XC90 and they were really good ..... came recommended from the dealer
