Why not sell the 2.7 and buy a 3.0?

But how will he turn heads?!! The most important thing is head turning! How will anyone know it's a 3.0 rather than a 2.7? How will they know to turn their heads? It's ridiculous!

He may well have a dead 2.7, and at £2.5k for a 2nd hand replacement (before any labour costs) it's not a cheap replacement

A good 3.0 can be sourced for much, much less Thumbs Up

Of course, maybe he doesn't want to turn heads.

This Freelander is running over 200bhp (from a standard 115). Can't tell from the outside Whistle

I was being silly Mikey; based on their short time here, "head turning" seems to be important to a certain member who posted in the thread. Whistle

I like the idea of a 200bhp FL. Very Q-car!

Interesting that the 3.0 is cheaper to source than the 2.7. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

All the more fun when the extra power comes as a surprise. Mr. Green

@ the OP, is it just replacement of the engine you're needing, or are you referring to the full twin turbos etc.? I don't think the latter is possible, but as said above, the former is (but it wouldn't really give much (any) extra power if that's what you're after). Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Must have missed that thread Laughing

Freelander is in the next issue of LROi Thumbs Up
0-60 in just under 8 secs Mr. Green

Twin turbo setup is likely not possible in a 2.7 (without lots of expense) but the extra capacity allows more boost pressure to be run, giving better power/torque, more so when a remap has been applied Thumbs Up

Might have to pop in to the "library" at WHSmiths for a browse of their Land Rover porn.. Whistle Rolling with laughter

I'm amazed they survive - most blokes seem to spend 20 minutes reading a magazine before putting it back on the shelf and walking out. Not that I'd do that of course! Whistle 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

not about head turning at all.
touch wood... the old girl has been a great worker and was considering sometime in the future what option on a 3.0 tdv6 might entail.
obviously a lot of differences but if a replacement engine was ever required, always worth considering an extra bigger lump going in there.
