These nuts almost landed me in the . Knowing I had a 200 mile journey towing my boat and a wheel I couldn't change if I had a problem, don't want to do that again. Nut now removed free of charge thanks to the guys at Monarch garage Glasgow. Don't see the point in them really. Who carries a 2.5 ton jack around with them anyway to lift the car....... As said the amount of locking wheels nuts that have to be drilled off or chiselled off because of the nut up.

I get them in my garage every week with damaged locking nuts,,worst thing you can fit.

I replaced all 4 locking nuts and a further 5 normal nuts that had swollen. Fortunately these were found when I had front & rear brakes replaced and the garage had to hammer them on/off.

The only problem with locking nuts is when some idiot tightens them up with a air gun,,when we tighten them up we only nip them up just over hand tight as the wheels are not going to drop off with 4 of the nuts tight.
