Double locking!!!!

Wasn't told anything about double locking our LR by the dealer we purchased it from

I did ask about the security issues, and all he said was, just lock it and it's secure!

Had a read up in the hand book, and I'm sure most people know this! But if like me you didn't, could be enough to stop someone taking your pride and joy!

Single lock - One press

Only the perimeter alarm is activated, and will sound if-

The bonnet, tailgate or door is opened
The battery is disconnected
An attempt is made to disconnect the alarm

Double lock - Second press within 3 seconds of the 1st press - Provides addition security, the vehicle cannot be opened by breaking a window and operating the door locks from inside.

Full alarm is activated, and will sound if -

The bonnet, tailgate or door is opened
Movement is detected in vehicle
Any window is broken
The vehicle is raised or tilted
The battery is disconnected
An attempt is made to disconnect the alarm

Also only double locking disable the doors being opened using inside door handles so its a must to double lock.
LR should make it a selectable option in system menu so that we can select one lock to do the full lock down, so if someone wants to leave a pet or child inside and lock the car then they can use the double lock to disable the perimeter alarm.

Strangely, or not as it's LR, double locking leaves the fuel filler unlocked where single locking locks it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
