Hi I have found a rear ACE oil leak looks like it's from the hyd cylinder that sits in the middle anyone any idea if this is common or what I need to repair any help would be great thanks

It is fairly common
The unit is not repairable
It's not a particularly cheap repair

Double check it's definitely from the seal on the ram, and not from the o-rings on the pipes, this would be a much cheaper repair

Its covered by the used approved warranty I just checked, just take it to any LR main dealer you'll be sorted. Infact you'd be better off ringing LR assistance they will take the car away for free and arrange a courtesy car.

A 2007 vehicle won't be covered under an Approved warranty though. It could have a Select/aftermarket warranty, but perhaps wait for the OP to mention//confirm it first?  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

There's a repair kit that might help but it's the only time it's been seen on this forum as far as I know. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Never seen, or even heard of that before. Will be very interesting to see the long term results, but they look very promising so far

Thanks for all the responses I just bought it from a Arnold Clark got 2 months warranty with it so booked in Monday morn already had front disc and pads under the warranty so hopefully they will repair this problem

Wee update got the rear ace bar replaced under the used car warranty at a cost of £2600 after a long fight with Arnold Clark happy customer

Yeah first they said it "wasn't leaking enough to warrant repairing it" so I got a second opinion from my local land rover dealer and they said the unit had failed so they had to repair it plus got a cheque for £100 as compensation [img][/img] that's the photo of the unit
