Thanks. Trade in values i have been getting have ranged from £25-£27K. If i sold back to LR it seems such a waste to trade it in with 15 months warranty and two services paid for.

Once you've seen it being winched on to a recovery truck a few times the superiority complex will soon go! |

I realise everyone is different and its horses for course. I am a huge fan of the L405 Range Rover and have started to look again. However, the XC90 is an awesome SUV, i don't think anyone should really comment until they have sat in one and driven one. The technology alone is light years ahead of Land Rover/Range Rover. I also don't believe they will lose value as quick as has been stated. Perhaps a look at L405 values, and the older RRS, will tell you that the Land Rover brand is not that good at holding its value. I am looking at 2 year old L405 VSEs, the dealer may be asking £61-£64K but a quick look at the WBAC and CAP values put them in the high £40Ks s a trade in. That is a £40K loss in 2 years!

How often does your RRS go off road and make use of its pedigree? The reality is that most LR owners will make exactly the same calls on the vehicle's ability away from tarmac as the driver of the Volvo will. I like what Volvo are doing - they have decided to stop following the Germans and start to go back to what they do well. From what I've read, the XC90 is a bloody good vehicle; sure, it's not going to set your pants alight but then it's not trying to. It's trying to be a big, safe, comfortable, capable family 4x4 estate. And it does it very well. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I might get one. But I'm waiting to see what the new Skoda SUV is like before deciding what to do next. My plan is to keep the RRS for towing the horse trailer, shooting and a bit of playing off road. I'll get something else for the commute. Putting 2.5k / month on the RRS at the moment and I fear how long it will last at that rate... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
