Bowler wheels and a bit of a clean

As I've been doing more and more off-roading I decided to fit some new wheels. They are Compomotive 18", actually made for Bowler for this http://www.bowlermotorsport.com/portfolio/bowler-exr/.

They are the only 18" wheels that you can get which fit over the brakes as far as I know, as standard ones are a minimum 19" but the 18's are so much better offroad, and gives a better ride quality on the road too. They are very light compared to standard and have a very high quality finish - happy with them.

I've never been massively into washing cars beyond a quarterly wash and occasional polish, but after several off road days the car was looking a bit sorry for itself, with loads of minor scratches down the sides from encroaching trees and bushes (it's quite a wide car for green laning!)

So I decided it would be worth investing in a machine polisher. Went for the Maguiars Dual Action and a selection of cutting, polishing and buffing pads. Watched a few youtube videos and then set about washing and then claying the car. First time I've done that and difference was unbelievable - paintwork lovely and smooth!

I then went round the whole car with the Maguirs ultimate cutting compound, followed by the Maguirs ultimate polish followed by the Maguirs Carnuba wax.

It took pretty much an entire day start to finish, but the results were amazing. Literally looks better than new now. The machine polisher got rid of all the scratches and swirls, and even the mrs noticed how good it looked. Someone also commented in the car park that it looked amazing Smile

So I feel like I've got my money out of it already! The pictures don't really do it justice, but here's a few.

It's there, just slightly out of shot.

The front spoiler was removed from the last off-roading day. Forgot to refit it before taking the pics....although I actually think it looks better without it!
