Some **** slashed my tyre

Away on business in rural Wales.

Car parked under CCTV but they chose the side of the car hidden.

Do I need to call police etc?

is it flat? looks like a rock/road debris slice rather than a stab?
But if it is a stab, report to police in case they did more cars and then get subsequently found. Bodsys Brake Bible

It's not flat but have a 200 mile journey home. Lucky I have a full sized spare.

Definitely not road debris as checked the whole car last night when I got out and checked into the hotel. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

LR Assist confirm its a knife cut.

Have crime # now.

Do I need to replace both rears as tread will be uneven? From memory it has about 5mm of tread. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

you don't need to. What would happen if you put the new full size spare on? Nothing.... Smile
Tyre manufacturers recommend they are replaced in pairs of course, but the diff will be able to more than cope with that difference. If normal road tyres, they usually only have 8/9mm of tread on anyway. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thats what LR Assist said it was, they said it was a quick slash, the fact its not straight points them towards a stanley blade.

Getting a new tyre today, Pirelli Scorpion Verdi £195 all inc, not as bad as I feared.

Black circles offered it at £175 but couldn't fit for a few days. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Censored

Jealousy from people who can't be arsed to do a proper days work and buy one - probably think they should be entitled to one on benefits Evil or Very Mad

Maybe if they had their hand chopped off for doing it when caught they'd think twice but then again some do gooder would explain how it wasn't their fault and it was ours for buying it in the first place Big Cry

I was lucky, in a way that the carpark does have CCTV and I was parked directly underneath it. The nice receptionist has burnt it to DVD anf given to the police, not that it will mean I dont have to replace the tyre etc.

I don't like Premier Inn as a general rule, however they are the closest hotel to where I needed to be and they are at least reliable.

You can see the spare wheel in the pic below (wrong colour, thanks to the dealer) but also the camera's above the car. They chose the side facing away from the camera's but the police reckon they'll be able to see someone approaching the car etc.

Let's hope they catch them and they get more than 10p a week fine/compensation to pay Evil or Very Mad

I always reverse park with blackvue pointing forward in the hope if something like this happens it will film the Censored

Shortly after I bought my Black Edition we were flying from Manchester and stayed night before at Premier Inn because it was handy and advertised floodlit secure parking with cctv. We arrived and it was pitch black so asked reception to turn on the lights or we weren't staying. They did and I parked under a floodlight in view of a camera near our window but still kept looking out of window - drove SWMBO mad. Currently driving the lads Punto waiting for my DS and much more relaxed parking Laughing Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
