Have you let the car go fully to sleep to make sure it stays live all the time. I thought they were Ign switched, but it could be 'car awake' switched I guess?

Yup! - so long as the ignition is actually off. Some stuff stays powered for some time after. However, on mine the front two sockets go off immediately with the key and the load space one stays on. I'm guessing this is configurable in software as different people seem to have different combinations? Si |

Not software configuration on that year, can only have been a modification by someone. Bodsys Brake Bible

My front one and rear one go off with ignition off. Tested them both with sat nav plugged in and it flashed up no power message when car locked.

If boot stays live then plug it in there and perhaps leave it on the roof ? The boot seal should be ok taking the lead width. Keep us posted! Will do. It comes with 9 feet of cable so I might have the option to plug into the boot and place it on the dash. |

Thanks Bodsy! As it happens, it suits me as I leave my Waeco Fridge in the back which just runs when the battery voltage is high enough (or at least switches off before it's flat!) . Si |

Did you try it out of the boot? I suspect its ignition live though Visitor from fullfatrr.com * GONE. 2012 RR Sport HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey. Now being piloted by RRSTDV8 * GONE: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Full Fat. Do a search on "access mode" and you'll see its wise to put the car into access mode when you park up especially for longish period. Its shuts everything down and the car goes to sleep. Battery power saved Visitor from fullfatrr.com

I do always leave the car in access mode as it makes it easier to get in and out and this has become the habit.
