MY14 RRS Fuji White - Vossen CVT 22x10.5 Wheels

Hi All

Well I have put 400kms on my RRS and loving every minute of it.

I got my Euro Premium plates on (RRS), Dark 5 grade tints and a complete colour match of front / back bumpers & side skirts and just picked it up last week.

It looks so much better colour matched.

I believe my new 22x10.5 Vossen CVT Concave wheels are due next week so as soon as I get these on, I will update this thread with some pics. Cant wait to get the wheels !!! Very Happy

Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Great about the car. Very Happy
But
Watch out with the 22"wheels. I bought my RRs with 22"s already on it. Because their isn't much sidewall/tyre if you hit even a small pot hole you are likely to buckle the rim. I know just driving around Melb.I have had the front with vibrations twice and its turned out to be that a wheel is buckled. Lots of money to have them fixed. I have even had a 20" rim buckled but that hit a bigger pothole. Sad
So in summary they look great and perform great on Freeways. I am in the process of buying some 19" to use on rougher surfaces. Suggest you keep your STD wheels for the same purpose and for when the others need repair.

Are you sure 19" wheels fit your model? I thought they only fit the TDV6.. Best check. I know they won't fit my SDV6 Dynamic. RRS P460e

Thanks, Rangiejools. I have seen 19" even 18" wheels that are advertised on evilbay that have come off a RR Sports.
But I am aware that mine has Brembo Brakes and I need to make sure. Did some of the Sports have smallar brakes ???

Is your RRS new model L494 or older previous shape. Is it an SDV6? If its the previous shape you can certainly fit 19" wheels and there are 18s available from Gordon at Green Oval Experience in Perth at a price!
If its the current model I would check with somebody who knows at your dealer just to make sure that the 19s will fit.

Cheers, really love my RRS!

Rangiejools,
Beware of 22"rims !! As I posted before- they tend to buckle.
Just got a near new set of 2015 20" rims with 255/55/20 tyres to use on country roads. Had them fitted and the 22"s taken off to fix? the slight buckles and put away for Freeway/Motorway use.
Found 2 of the rims had cracks on the inside. Censored
Haven't done any but drive around suburbia ! Starting to think it may have been caused going over speed humps

Cracka,
You've got a bit confused... I don't have 22" wheels and wouldn't anyway as I live down dirt road. Be useless there. What tyres did you get fitted to your 20s? I have Pirelli Scorpion ATRs 275/55/20. Much stroger than OEMs and a bit more tread for when our road turns to slime.
Notice the pic on next to your name is and earlier model RRS. Is this car you are talking about?

Rangiejools,
Sorry, the comment was a follow up to the orginal post by WRRS in Perth.
Yes that is my Sport and its a 2006 Supercharged. I brought it about 18 months ago with the 22" wheels on it.
I have just taken them off (just in Time) and put on a new set of Std 20" wheels and tyres off a 2015 model.
The tyres are Pirelli Scopion Verde A/S's 255/55/20 which seem alright so far but not as grippy as the 285/35/22 Pirelli's that were on it which is understandable.
The only slight problem I have is I am now doing 108kph when the speedo is showing 100. Have to use the Navman !!!

"The only slight problem I have is I am now doing 108kph when the speedo is showing 100. Have to use the Navman !!!"

The reason that your speedo is wrong is because you have fitted much larger diameter tyres than standard to your 20" wheels. I am surprised that they are not rubbing anywhere. Mad The correct size on a 20" wheel is 275/40/20 which has a diameter of 28.7 inches. Your 255/55/20 tyres have a diameter of 31 inches. These are fitted to the new L494 Range Rover Sport.
Sounds like there has been a bit of a cock up with your tyre dealer who may have specced the wrong tyres. Or was it your decision?

RangeJools.
No, It was my decision in the end. I had been searching for some good second hand 20" wheels and tyres . I wanted to take off the 22" ones to have them straighten and I wanted more sidewall/ allseason tyres.
I got these 2015 rims from a Dealer where the new owner swapped to 22" ones @ his 1500klm service. If he had only known the issues with 22" rims.(mine where not only buckled but 2 had cracks on the inside )
I couldn't pass these up given the price (less than the cost of 3 tyres).
The orginal GPS was outdated and didn't have a tenth of the features of current aftermarket ones so I have fitted a 7" Navman with offroad and large vehicle packages in front of the Orginal.
Now use that for speedo and I am having no problems whatsoever except for the fuel savings. Thumbs Up
