I can picture your smile! Very Happy

I remember that when I bought a TVR Griffith and used to go through tunnels in a lower gear than needed. V8s are awesome!

Very Happy I have four V8s and a V12. All sound different. The SVR is the rawest of the V8s, but not the loudest. Very Happy

Just noticed this -

The silly yellow thing was what Clarkson drove on the Canadian 'Rescue Hammond' episode.

and of those 5 cars, what's the split of normally aspirated, supercharged and turbocharged? I have three V8s, two flat-6s (no prizes etc) and a flat 4, two of each of those types. Mark

Three of the V8s are supercharged (five superchargers between them Smile ), the other V8 and V12 are NA. Just over 27L of fuel-burning fun.

Well it does sound like a Spitfire flying over you... I'm not good on AM models but is that a V8 vantage?

Trying to think - and can't - of any other current production cars using a supercharger. The world is going turbo and where that was once a badge of honour, now it's just me-too. It will be a sad day when the JLR engine is pulled in the name of political correctness or legal compliance. I just hope we get enough warning to grab another while they are still available. V12s are increasingly rare and V8s are being replaced with turbo V6s.

My other supercharged car is an ageing but still lovely Mercedes SL55 AMG though even it cowers when I start the SVR and put it into sport/dynamic mode... Mark

Yes, Vantage Le Mans (V600).

I think there will always be someone sticking a supercharger on the Chevy V8 (Hellcat SRT, Z06, Holdens, etc) but nothing as refined as our V8.

I'm certain mine does as well...

Some serious plumbing in there Phil, one supercharger for each bank of the V8. Gosh. Mark
