Hi I have a 2006 RR sport 4.2 supercharged. I have orange warning light saying low coolant. Have checked coolant which is fine although there maybe a possible airlock.
Landrover say needs new sensor as is faulty and new expansion tank £250 +.
I saw on a USA forum someone suggested to solve this all you need to do is take the coolant warning light and cross over it with 12 gauge wire , and there is no reason you need to know coolant level just check coolant monthly.

It's a known issue - the float become porous and stops floating resulting in erroneous errors. It's not a big job to replace the header tank so worth having it done at the next service perhaps. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The tank itself is £28.80 (aftermarket) or £52.92 (genuine) from Steve @ Advanced so £250 is rather steep.

If you didn't want to bother with it, assuming you're running the original instrument pack software (no clock), it is possible for it to be disabled in the CCF (as is already the case on some vehicles, in fact). I would suggest you do replace it though.  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
