Hi All,
Please excuse any possible repetition of thread as I'm a newby.
I have a UK Range Rover Sport TDV8 3.6 Diesel on a 58 plate (2008 ) which had its left hand passenger side turbo blow up last year, needless to say it was a bit smoky immediately after the repair, (eye watering expensive repair, I'm still in mourning), with some residual oil remaining in the exhaust. The dealership was characteristically vague about the duration of smoke appearing on start up however as I do a fair amount of mileage I expected it to go after a month or two, (in reality I find out later it should have been a week or two).
I have since had quite a lot of light blue smoke from the left hand exhaust pipe on start up for about 30 seconds, the engine misses for a while then settles and smoke clears. I've had number 8 injector replaced as advised and as they are self-adjusting (apparently?), I have waited for the start up to be clear but it hasn't happened and I've done quite a few miles over a number of months. Performance seems fine, especially when the engine reaches temperature. I've had a specialist look at it and cylinder pressures appear to be within tolerances. Specialist was a bit stumped. Needless to say I'd appreciate any advice although 'dump it asap mate' has already been offered.
I live near Bath, work in London but am willing to travel anywhere to get it sorted by someone who knows the engine and doesn't wear a mask.
Many thanks,
Ben
