Hi

I have an intermittent problem with the satnav, i have tried cleaning the disk, which looks brand new and no scratches.
I have tried to put a cd/dvd cleaning disk in the player but it will not accept it.

Problem is that the unit loads up but then gives a read error message which can last 10-15mins or then lasts 10 seconds and the unit comes back on as if its working fine.

I think it needs a new player, or a reconditioned one at least. Has anyone else had this issue and solved it ?

I have had very similar to what you describe. Mine did accept a cleaning disk (a Currys one, FWIW) and that did the trick nicely.  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Was it a dvd or cd cleaning disk ? the one i tried was for dvd but it came up on the screen that a non sat nav disk was inserted, no other actions were available.

I just stuck it in for 20 seconds or so (screen said "disk error" or similar) then took it out again and all was back to normal.
