It may be more financially advantageous to sell a convertible in summer but that negates the whole reason for buying it which was to enjoy top down motoring in the sunshine.

I bought the car new in May 2013 so have enjoyed two summers already as well as taking the major part of the depreciation hit so I would like one more summer from it which probably won't be quite as much in terms of further depreciation

I had a 12 month warranty with warranty direct and I have nothing but praise for them

Same here, was still on my way home from the Indy when they called me to say that it needed a new compressor and the work had been authorised. Emailed the invoice and recieved the check in a few days, great service.

If you get a 2 year warranty from the dealer you will be ok. For what it's worth I'd pay the extra for LandRover Extended warranty & sleep easy at night. At least that way you don't have to pay the money up front & claim it back for any repairs. You can now pay for extended warranty on direct debit at around £100 per month.

A friend had a warranty with WarrantyWise & the garage said he was lucky with his repair, as in their experience WarrantyWise rarely paid up for work done. He did struggle to get it agreed though & that was only for the reversing camera. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

WarrantyWise - I'm now incredulous.....

Repair of wheel bearing and replacement of one disc was approved by WarrantyWise and today I finally got the cheque back - for £34.66!!!! Just the cost of the bearing, no labour, no disc. Biggest typeface on the payment is bold underlined 'In accepting this payment you are agreeing to the full and final settlement of this matter.'

Needless to say I am querying this.

Will have to find out if there's an ombudsman for this particular industry - WarrantyWise are worth a letter!
