Our MY11 Headlamps are always on. I understand that in the first position on the light switch the headlamps work as DRLs but I've seen a number of similar age and newer vehicles with no lights on at all.

Is there a way of disabling the DRLs and if so, would it be legal?

I assume its the LED's that come on? If so I believe a dealer can enable or disable this feature.

At the time, Land Rover didn't enable the DRL's in the UK, however it was a legal requirement in other countries. It mentions them in the owners manual and advises to contact dealer to enable/disable.

I know many feel strongly about not having DRL's, however I personally think it dates the car now, especially as cars of the same age had DRL's so I'm actually considering getting mine enabled!

On the basis that the DRL's weren't enabled as standard at the time, I can't see you having any legal issues...it would be a different story if the car went through the European type approval process after 2011 (i.e. when Land Rover launch a new model) hence why the RRS2 has DRL now 2010 RRS 3.0 TDV6 - Bali Blue / Ivory Leather / Extended Leather / TV / Rear Entertainment / Privacy Glass / Timed Climate
