Build to Delivery

Hi All,

I've just been told by my Dealer that I now have a build slot in August for a September delivery!

From all your experiences, how long is it usually from Build Date to Delivery Date, and what is the buffer time before the build date that is the last time that changes can be made?

I don't however expect to make any changes as I've spent the last two months doing that, but it might give me a more accurate guess as to the actual build date....!

For info, I paid my deposit in early March and was told at the time it would be a six month wait, so all going to plan!

Many thanks,

H

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

Build date to delivery date is about 10 days....my vehicle built 17th April arrived at the dealer a week later and after registration etc collection was available 10 days after build.
Last time for revisions pre build is meant to be 7 weeks, but I would not go down to the wire on this. In my case the factory build the car early, on provisional specs, which I had agreed with the dealer to get a slot. So, the eta was pulled from 2nd week April to end of Feb, before I had chance to place the final specs in January. Fortunately the car was swapped, and a new build date slotted in very swiftly with the proper specs . So, probably a good idea to finalise specs more like 12 weeks before build to be on the safe side.

Thanks for your replies Gents.

Tim, how did you get so much detail about your car's production? My dealer is very unforthcoming in that department!

The salesmanager at the dealership is a friend and kept me updated! The car was already on order and I said I would take it 2 days before it was built so couldn't change any spec but am very very pleased with what I got. I wouldn't have specced 22" wheels as the roads around here are like cart tracks and I do go offroad in my cars - the ride is quite amazing on such large wheels/ skinny sidewall tyres and the car is very quiet even on Continental Tyres which were really noisey on my 1st Evoque. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
