Dynamic response failure

Uurg! Was driving to Stirling yesterday when I got a big red triangle appearing on my dash with a message to stop engine immediately suddenly. The engine didn't sound different and car was driving fine. Luckily (I think) I had just passed Morrison Land Rover in Bannockburn so turned around and went and asked for some help from them. The workshop was just closing for lunch but a very kind mechanic kindly helped by plugging in some new log reader they had just received, to determine what my issue was. two or three minutes later and rueful head shaking (and rubbing of hands no doubt) he had diagnosed it was one of the four DR pipes had suddenly gone pop spraying hydraulic fluid all over my front inner wing tyre brake etc - DR fluid level was almost empty when we checked it, I only checked it last week to and it was full - ah well. Anyway I left the RR with them to investigate and price a fix (I have no warranty). They phoned me this morning with the good news that parts would have to be ordered in - 4 new DR hydraulic pipes ( they come in a set of 4 apparently - of course they do, why sell 1 when you can have 4). Price for total parts and labour (5.5 hours) is £1034.85 - Shocked Shocked Shocked. and they can't do it until next week after bank holiday Rolling Eyes
all 4 pipes were heavily corroded apparently. Is this usual on 4.5 year RR?? Does this mean in another 4.5 years I'm likely to have the same issue. I've asked the dealer to contact LR on my behalf. It worked before for me when I had my Freelander with whining rear diff and they paid 80% of cost. Worth a phone call I think.
Actually, having read some posts on the subject on the forum this is a lot less than I expected but still a bit of a hoof in the whatsits Thud 2016 L494 SDV6 HSE Dynamic Carpathian Grey

If you can get the car down to Larbert there is an indie there who has labour rates about 1/3rd of Morrison's - GEMM. They have a website but best to phone them. Replacing all 4 pipes sounds sensible - if one has gone then sure as eggs are eggs the other three could fail soon too. Morrisons have serviced most of the Land Rovers I have bought (of the last 11LR's 7 were from them) I could never fault their servicing (but like all LR dealerships it is expensive and why my 1996 Defender goes to GEMM for fettling. GEMM are well experienced in looking after modern Land Rovers even though their yard looks like a museum of old Land Rovers! Might also be worth contacting member Disco-Mickey on the forum for a quote. BTW GEMM does have a large recovery wagon if you have to move the car from Morrisons 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

DR issue update.. LR offered to pay 50% of bill which I accepted based on the fact my car was out of warranty. However, I might pursue this with them given I've now had both the Land Rovers I've owned experienced major failures (and very high repair bills both of which they contributed to) and both were/are under 4.5 years old. These are reputed to be high end quality cars and in my opinion shouldn't suffer major faults at such a young age (rear diff on Freelander and my recent DR pipe failure due to rust).

Crying or Very sad

Any thoughts or advice welcome. 2016 L494 SDV6 HSE Dynamic Carpathian Grey
