Gearbox reset

This morning i got my gearbox reset by Bodsy.
Met him first thing this morning whilst he was doing some work on another blokes RRS.
Sorted my car real quick and i have noticed the difference since getting it reset. Drives a lot smoother thru the gear changes. Next thing i need is a gearbox flush and my RRS will be in tip top shape for the next 12 months.
I can recomend getting this done and Bodsy is a top bloke, thanks mate.
I will be in touch regarding getting the timed climate activated on my RRS. Current 2010 Range Rover Sport HSE with the usual toys: timed climate, Rosen headrest screens, tow bar with twin electrics, Blackvue HD cam

Hi Bodsy What is the Gearbox reset. Yesterday i came back from a shopping trip. When backing onto my driveway,i was half
on the drive and half on road when it stopped driving, engine still running. No warning light on dash. Except the low fuel warning light. and Fuel gauge showing empty although being full. which is awaiting being fixed with Landrover Modification . The car would not drive forward or reverse itisme

The gearbox reset resets the adaptive values (the gearbox adjusts itself to your style of driving)

Not sure it would fix your problem. It may just be the gear selector lever. Well known for jamming up and stopping drive on the older models.

Hopefully it won't be too expensive to fix for you! Bodsys Brake Bible

I was already in reverse gear and driving, when it just stopped driving. Had it transported to Stratstones my local LR repairers. Just hope they dont stitch me up.There was not any fluid loss. Dont think it could be actual gears, thought it might be a torque converter. But thought there would have been some kind of warning, like erratic drive. itisme

Bodsy,

I'm back from work on the 19th. Do you fancy coming and resetting my gearbox for me? I've had a coupe of faults and would like to do the simple stuff first. Get this reset, see if fault happens again, take to LR.

Message for Bodsy

I have been experiencing a clunk in my gearbox which only happens when slowing down and when the gearbox drops into first. I have tried the car in sports selector mode and there is no clunking.

I have taken the car to a company who updates the ECU and they said it hasnt fixed the problem and its going to be £2k-£3k to investigate.

Any ideas??

Did they reset and recalibrate when they updated the ECU? Do you know what they updated it with?
Did they change/check the oil level in the gearbox?
£2-3k would give you a replacement gearbox with change, so thats some real investigation they must have going for that price......

A full reset and recalibration often helps to fix this issue. There is a Gearbox shunt update, but you may have already had that applied. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks for getting back to me

The invoice just states Autologic diagnostic test and update of tranmission software. Nothing else. So I presume that all they did was plug in and apply an update of some sort.

I was suspicious of the investigation cost myself!!!!
