2005 auxiliary input

Tried to connect my Sony experia via this with a male to male audio lead to play some tunes, set the unit to aux and all I got was a lot of noise but no music.

Can anyone advise or help

some of the jacks have a plastic shroud that just stops the pins from going in far enough to make the proper connection. I've had to trim some of the plastic off sometimes to get the right connection. Bodsys Brake Bible
