Bluetooth phone connection question

I've just bought my first RRS (2010 facelift) Confused from a Trader. When I tried to connect my mobile to the bluetooth the message said "No phone fitted". The trader told me I had to buy something to plug into the USB connector under the armrest. Can anybody give me a clue what I should be looking for and do I need anything else to make my phone work via the car?

have you searched for the car from the phone?
BT settings and it should find LandRover
pair using 2121.

the bit under the armrest is for music streaming only.

you can retroft bluetooth if it doesn't have it. needs enabling but i and a few others on here can do that. I can retrofit it for you if you wish also. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks for the information, I thought the Trader did not really know what he was talking about. Anyway, I tried to pair from my mobile (LG G3) and it did come up with Land Rover, so I'll try to pair it using 2121 - watch this space.

When I connect via the original Bluetooth on the car my connection is awful.. The person I'm calling can hardly hear me.. Plus I have to reconnect every single time I get in the car? Any fixes for this?

A software update should resolve your pairing issues. Not sure that it improves the quality - The D4 module would though. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Oane,

I can do a software module swap that would fix the pairing issue for you. As mentioned though, the sound quality wont necessarily improve. However, putting a D4 module in place of the d3 one improves the sound quality both receiving and transmitting.

I have a couple of D4 BT modules here that you can put in its place. I'll drop you a PM with the details if you are interested.
