alloygators

New member here. Have ordered HSE in Aruba. Privacy glass. Surround camera. Heated steering wheel. Grand black interior trim. Still waiting in the holding pool, hoping to squeeze into MY16...

I have stuck with the standard 20 inch rims and wondered if anyone had put Alloy gator rim protectors on?

Don't do it! They have a tendency of coming off, especially at speed and that in turn then has a tendency of damaging panels, at least the arch / wing.

I'd suggest parking a few inches further away from the curb than running the risk of bodywork damage.

Cheers..

Ian

Totally agree with Ian - they're rubbish. Fitted them to my last car (Jeep) meticulously following the instructions, gluing the stupid little serrated blades in place, deflating my tyres and all the rest of it. Within a week they started to come off. I tried re-fitting them all, just in case, but the same thing happened so I ripped them all off and chucked them in the bin where they belong. Who knows, maybe they would work on a hot hatch but they definitely don't on a 4x4.

They don't work on a hot hatch either.. my info came from someone reporting it'd happened to their Focus RS.. an expensive lesson for them to learn considering the "supply and demand" for limited run parts Sad

Cheers..

Ian
