I think I'll hang onto my paper counterpart for a little while longer !

About two years ago I tried to apply for a photo driving licence and gave up. I was required to surrender my passport as official proof of ID and that is something I cannot do as I have to be available to jet off abroad at 48 hours notice, the MINIMUM time that the DVLA needed to issue a photo driving licence was 6 weeks.................... so I still only have a paper one and the DVLA has not been able to offer an alternative service like the Passport Office has for issuing a photo licence in person at a local office. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

That's strange,Tim, I requested a replacement licence a couple of years back due to it ending up in the washing machine, all I had to do was give them my passport number, and dvla contacted the passport office and they used that photo on my licence.

Edit, just re read your post to see you only have a paper one, mine was a replacement for the paper AND card one MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Wow, that's going to be really simple for those travelling around and hiring cars from several places during the trip.

Typical government - we're doing this to make it simpler. Simpler for them maybe but not for anyone else. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
