Morning all. Whilst planning a 40 day trip to France this summer with the 2015 sport I've been checking the terms of the Land Rover Assist. On page 26 of the Warranty benefits booklet it states "land rover assistance is only available outside your home country for single trips that do not exceed 30 days". So if the car breaks down after 30 days abroad I'm stuffed unless I take out a independant breakdown insurance. This seems a poor approach by land rover on such an expensive vehicle.
Any recommendations for a company to provide me with the requisite cover as I only need it for the extra 10 days, either at the start of the holiday or at the end.

Day 29 make sure that you are in the Calais/Dunkerque areas and take a ferry trip back to Dover for a night..............but ensure that you arrive in Dover before midnight of day 29 and leave after midnight of day 30 so day 30 is spent at Sainsbury Dover stocking up on Ginsters Pasties and Tiser for the next 10 days 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Ah Tim, I see the plan, but I'll be too far away from calais.

I wouldn't worry about it, we're hardly inundated here by reports of steaming current RRS's stranded on the hard shoulder.

I have breakdown insurance with the RAC which covers me in any of my cars anywhere. £190 IIRC which I think is good value. Mark

could you possibly take out AA breakdown with european cover on a monthly payment scheme then cancel it after one month and after your trip obviously, just double check they don't have a 50% cancellation fee or something of that variety
