United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver
Stolen spare wheel & tyre

Gutted! Got call from dealership whilst car was in for first service to tell me that spare wheel & tyre was missing from underneath car.
The wheel & tyre have been stolen using wire cutters.
The dealership said that they'd come across a few cases like this but didn't offer up any advice other than a replacement at £539. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can make the replacement more secure? Thanks.

Bummer, but don't forget that you can get 4 replacements for that price on ebay.

Helgeo - as Cliff said you can pick up a set of 4 19 inch wheels and tryes for about £500 on ebay! I for one would be interested in a single wheel & tyre if you decide to go that route and I know others would want one too. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I guess it was only a matter of time. Some people need stabbing.

It's a good idea though, one person gets a set off eBay, then splits them amongst members for equal amount plus beer money and postage. Seems daft to pay dealer price. L319 D4 HSE

well.. you could always say.. "nah don't think so mate, the spare was on there when i dropped the car off.." did they make any notes or have you sign it off as not there?

Is slightly dodgy way to approach things but u know.. £500 is £500!!

Bloody thieves Evil or Very Mad

Mind you what they'd want with mine I dont know - on the supercharged it's a 19" get you home steel/alloy wheel limited to 50mph.

But in this day and age it's ridiculous that LR have chosen this storage method for the spare wheels Evil or Very Mad

This was / is a common problem for peugeot owners - thief with bolt croppers = very unhappy peugeot owner.

On the RRS it's not just a handy place to store the tyre though is it? It forms part of the rear crash protection... so in fact, not only have you got no tyre, but you're also opening up the rear half of your car and it's occupants to more danger than need be.

Robbing fu**ers though!! Evil or Very Mad
