Fire in the engine bay..

I've had a short circuit on my new shape RRS '13... Came outside after a long drive to find smoke blowing out of the engine bay!

Does anyone know if there's a known fault or recall?

Would love to know as this is pretty serious, if I hadn't been about to put the fire out who knows what could have happened!

Thank you.

I'm sure somebody will reply to this with crutial info but you've just made me plan on getting a small fire extinguisher on the way home.

Hope you get this sorted mate. Fingers crossed.

Cheers NnilSwerdnA... Was the first thing I looked for when it was happening, shame one wasn't supplied.

I hope I get some response as I'm getting nothing from LandRover apart from 'it's being fixed'... It's been over 6 weeks now!

WOW! Thankfully it wasn't... managed to catch it in time. What worries me is it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident and give my daughter had been in the car minutes earlier and I'd been on the Isle of Wight ferry about an hour before hand... doesn't bear thinking about if it had gone up then!

I've read the whole thread from your posting and what's interesting is the time it takes LR to sort out the situation... they've now had my car 3 months this week, they've sent forensic mechanics down from HQ to inspect the car and i've had no reports bar a verbal 'they believe some wiring was dislodged and touched the body work'?? The silence is deafening!

Seen as the car's had one recall for the fuel pipe running too close the exhaust, faults preventing the passenger doors from opening from either inside or out and this article: http://www.uk-afi.org/product-recall/2014-...r-sport-30 I'm pretty much done with LandRover, a shame as it's a lovely car to drive!

Also, to all those saying the papers aren't interested, try this on for size: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-23...-spot.html

I personally think LR need to be far more accountable and responsible for selling vehicles that are fit for purpose... are you reading this LR??
