Does not sound 'normal' if one front tyre is wearing unevenly.

I have had the car checked on the 4 wheel alignment by Hunter Hawkeye ,as you say it is the only way on a 4xx4 to get a correct diagnosis.

My TDV8 wears the outside shoulders, always has in the 3 years I've had it. Had many alignments done and it still does it, although to a lesser degree. I don't run RRS standard tyres, however, as I run 255/55/19 (rather than the "correct" 50% ratio).

My TDV8 wore both front tyres on their inner edge which i only noticed when i got a shimmer through the steering wheel. I had a 4 wheel alignment done at a local Indy, with two new tyres and did a further 30k miles before selling it and the new tyres wore perfectly evenly across the surface. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Spoke with L/R today who say that there is nothing unusual with the tyre wear on a Sport and that first of all the nearside will wear first and then the offside , but considering the wear the rest of the tyre is perfect and it is only on the outside.

Recently had 4 wheel alignment done properly after my indie screwed it up. Took it to a recently set up place nearby which has brand new latest Hunter kit. They first lifted the rear with neat little air jacks and removed the wheels to gain better access to free off the adjusters with sockets and breaker bar. Wheels were replaced then car up on the Hunter ramp and put into tight tolerance mode. Adjustments were made to all 4 wheels and where necessary they used an electrically powered induction heating device to free off any seized adjusters.

If they use Hunter then they shouldn't be able to to screw it up. You should get a "before and after" print of the geometry figures too which will show whether anything is out or not. Unless they don't tighten stuff up properly afterwards I suppose. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I think part of the wear issue is down to the nature of the air suspension. The suspension has a fairly generous tolerance built in so that you can have wheels at quite different ride heights even when on the flat. Because the wheels naturally change toe and camber settings as they move through their ride height range, a change in ride height will change the geometry. If the geometry is set up at a certain ride height and the EAS system then allows it to "drift" you could be driving with incorrect settings. Each car's suspension ECU will, naturally, be slightly different so I could see different cars suffering this varying degrees.
