I'm not having anything fitted by the dealer, so no flaps. The reason why such things are not fitted on the line is that it is not compatible with an efficient production line - SVRs go to a special area post build to have their unique bits added. |

IIRC the side rubbing strips are only held on with industrial strength double sided stickies so the dealer should be able to borrow a hairdryer and some dental floss / nylon fishing line and put your rubbing strips back on straight without too much of an issue. I agree though that that sort of bodywork extra should be done on the production line with one of their special templates like they use for putting the badges on in long strips 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, the installation instructions for the rubbing strips say the car should be left in a warm environment for 24 hours to let the sticky tape set and I imagine trying to remove and reset them is the stuff of nightmares. I may yet remove them when/if I am over the paranoia of parking dings. Most car parks and parking spaces are not big enough for the RRS and leaving it at, for example, Stansted would not make for Haapy Holidays and I'm not sure one of the valet parking options would be any better. Valet mode in the centre console should halve the engine power... I would certainly fit the mudflaps myself; I fitted them on my Evoque after seeing the truly atrocious fit from a dealer on another car. Mark SVR in Estoril Blue |

In view of the keyfob cloning problems I wouldn't want to leave my car with any valet parking or long term offsite parking at an airport these days as most want you to leave your keyfob with them. I wonder what the insurance implications of handing your keyfob over to a complete stranger outside the airport termninal doors is if it later gets stolen....... Unfortunately I also won't pay the extra to go business class and have a limo pick-up from the house either (if they came 30 miles to do the job, which neither BA or Virgin airlines will but Emirates does) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
