iPod connection

I'm being told theres no solution for an iPod connection if i have a cd-changer?? anyone know if this is true

If you have a jack plug socket next to the rear cigar lighter socket at the back of the centre console then you can connect an iPod using a suitable lead. Select 'aux' on the head unit. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Yeah I know I can connect via this option but the sound is not great and I have no control over the iPhone so was looking to have more control and proper connection
