You should be able to see from outside, if the new glass has a insect mark or something in the same location causing it to think its raining |

It only does it when you turn the car on. After the first wipe its fine, I will have a look at the windscreen and see.

The sensor is probably not bonded to the screen properly. Have a look from the outside at where the mirror attaches to the glass. If the contact looks white, like the below, then it has not been attached properly:

Don't mean to completely hijack the thread but quick straw-poll as to how many of use have had to replace their windscreens so far?

i had my screen replaced due to a stone chip near the top of windscreen and then watched as the crack slowly got longer as i drove along.when Autoglass replaced the windscreen i did ask if they had done many of the new rrs,and he confirmed they had. They did have the right details for my car but he still had to confirm he had the right screen due to rain sensor, because of previous probs.Could it be the windscrren is not as strong due to weightsaving measures |

I had one replaced last year, then a month later an XF in front of me launched a tiny stone which chipped the edge of the screen. Turned into a foot long crack. Definitely not up to the job for this type of vehicle. |

Sorry to buck the trend, but I have found mine has taken all kinds of abuse from stones etc and never missed a beat.
