Yes, easy to think that the tyre only has to support its share of the static weight of the car but the tyre loading increases considerably under acceleration, braking or cornering. The higher the performance of the car, the greater these dynamic loads and the heavier the car is, the worse it gets. So, to my mind, tyres are critical on the SVR and you don't want to find them lacking when you are swerving to avoid that on-coming artic... Mark

Absolutely. Don't skimp on tyres and get the correct ones for the job! All are a compromise on the road though. I have full winters on my rear wheel drive BMW. It is unusable on the normal 19" summer tyres in poor weather. |

So it looks like the shopping list is 4 rims, 4 tyres, 4 TPMS valves/sensors, 4 wheel centres, 4 spats painted. I think £6k is low! LOL. Thanks for the helpful info Dave.
