Hi, not heard of any reset procedure. It is possible to recode the fob using diagnostic tool but you have to recode both fobs. Assuming your other fob works normally then suggests the spare fob has a problem like a dry joint on the PCB perhaps? Did you replace the battery with the correct rechargeable one (e.g. Panasonic VL 2330)?

Thanks Paddi - and yes, the other fob works without fault. I replaced like-for-like battery and cleaned the PCB with some cleaner before re-assembling as some components looked to be oxidized. Perhaps it needs some time for them to get to know each other again. I have the ability to re-code them but that would be a last resort at the moment. |

There have recently been problems replacing fob batteries with Evoques - the cure for them is to buy replacement batteries from your friendly Land Rover dealer. Every member over on BabyRR who has bought the right style of fob battery from any other supplier has been frustrated by locking problems until they bought another set of batteries from their dealership! Some folks replaced the batteries themselves and others let the accessory dept replace them for them but they never had any issues whichever way they did it with dealership supplied batteries................. one of life's great mysteries, nobody can explain why there isn't a problem when the batteries come from LR! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have you tried a hard reset? (In case you don't know, hold the battery leads together for a few minutes - obviously with the battery disconnected ) Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver |

It can achieve many things as it drains the capacitors in the vehicle so the ECUs start up from scratch. It's always worth trying if you're having some odd issue like this. You'll need to reset your clock afterwards. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

OK - so I disconnected the battery, connected the +ve and -ve leads together and did the hard reset.

Next port of call is a splice in the loom below the passenger sill - it's a common place to cause locking issues. Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
