With my up and coming sale on the RRS coming I'm not looking forward to the timewasters which I tend to attract, a couple of years back when I sold my bmw 330 I had one guy who went on an extensive test drive with his mate he then said he liked the vehicle and just had to organize insurance 4 days later I get a text saying he doesn't like the insurance quotations, would've been nice for him to check before he had a test drive atleast.

I also had a similar experience but only this guy got turned down for finance after spending a long time showing him the vehicle, I can deal with silly questions like does it come with a tow bar and numerous questions that I've already answered on my ad but when it comes to test drives wish they would only ask if they are serious and have everything in place to take the vehicle.

Anyway the reason for the post is for others to share they're timewasting experiences or maybe your a timewaster aswell ?

TBH, with a car like a RRS, I think you may have to expect some time-wasters. Many people will be having doubts about buying one given that perhaps most that are new to the LR world expect them to be unreliable. You just have to treat nothing as final until the money is in your hands. The best you can do is answer all their questions and stick with it, remembering that you'll get more money for your efforts. Oh the joys of the second hand car market.
I'm currently contemplating selling my limited edition subaru WR1, with super low miles on it, barely comes out of the garage.
When I advertised it before, ( albeit only on a WR1 forum ), I had a couple of complete tyre kickers, now I'm usually quite good at spotting them, but this one arrived in a scooby and was middle aged, so I thought he would be serious, went out for a good drive in it, ( which luckily for him was a dry day, otherwise it would have been a garage walk around, lol ), got back, didn't even argue about asking price, ( these are only going up in value ), looked at all the paperwork, ( of which there is a lot ), he then asked if it was alright to have the car inspected at a garage that is well known in Scooby circles, ( at his cost of course ), I didn't have a problem with this and told him to organise it and let me know.
This is where it all goes down hill, never heard anything for over a week, then I called him to ask what's happening, left a message, he rang back asking about suitable dates, I gave these to him.
Then nothing, so I thought leave it a week, as we are all busy people, still nothing, so I called, again left a message.
Finally a text, " sorry, but I've decided to buy a new scooby, thanx ".
Needless to say I wasn't happy, not because the car didn't sell, but because of all the that surrounded it, I don't do it, so I don't expect others to, but I'll refer back to my opening line. 2005 Vesuvius 1st edition ( now sadly gone ).

WBAC do have a place but they do seem to want to bend you over with their offers - some of their quotes in the past have been beyond laughable. I know that there is always a choice in whether to accept or not but even so
