Most common problems

Just to go into my purchase with open eyes (if I can get a good deal), what's the most common problems and are most fixed now? I found 30 pages of problems/questions on RangeRovers.net but that's a lot to go through. Anyone got a summary of recalls and problems?

There are some classics on the other forum - shouldn't laugh but - http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2696 - gave me a chuckle! Razz

Main problems seem to be with the pain work - this is the only problem that is really detectable before you accept the vehicle - is the paint work is bad reject the car, I know it will be difficult but will save you heaps of time in the longrun. By the time you would get a RRS all otner problems that some of us have had should have been sorted but who's to say new ones wont arise. Basic problems we have had - Steering vibration, coolant level sensor, tailgate struts, bits missing, suspension sensors and parking sensors not switching on. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

VA, were you on the Vino tinto when you posted.....

I AM on the vino tinto, 2 bottles tonight, but in Argentina, it's so cheap it's so easy!

Anyway, in answer to the original question posed. By the time you get your car the initial teething problems of this model will most certainly have been sorted out. There were never any real show stoppers, and software updates are now going to be a constant thing to endure or look forward to as there is so much electronic stuff.

Think of it this way, you would buy Windows again, but you'd expect to ahve to update it now and then. That's how it is.

It's a great car, lovely to drive (even better in SC form! Cool ) and I'm sure you'll love it. Just go for it! L319 D4 HSE
