Harmon Kardon - will it play a DVDR with audio in it?

I'm listing all the time to AUX and recently treated my ears to the difference in non 320kbs postify based tracks. It made me think I need to go burn some decent flac based tracks to a dvd, but will it play a DVDR with audio in it on my machine?

Either that or I go grab by dusty CD albums.

Thats cool to know Bodsy. Wonder if it will play .flac based files then. Be class if it did. Is there a manual link .pdf anywhere to search that?

No, just MP3. Keep them to one folder level (not folders in folders) and it will be fine. 320k files play fine. Not quite flac but not bad. Bodsys Brake Bible

Yeah I've been able to fit about 4 CD's worth of music onto one 'data CD'. Not sure what bit-rate the tracks are but they're the standard ones you get off Amazon and they sound great.

Top tip - you can use the hash and asterisk buttons on the keypad to navigate through the folders on the disc - not the most logical buttons to use... annoyed the hell out of me for a while until I figured that out...

Just a shame that half my music collection is in bloody iTunes AAC format... Rolling Eyes

Are you saying you got FLAC / lossless to work then? Would love this, recently stoped my subscription to spotify over this same issue, I've a fab set of separates at home and making them suffer 320kbps

Afraid not, I was just agreeing with Bodsy that 320k mp3's are the way to go. Have to admit that in the car, once the bitrate hits 256k or above I can't tell the difference between that and a CD anyway. Being able to fit 4-5 CD's onto one disc outweighs any tiny drop in quality for me. If I was listening with headphones at home then it might be different but in the car with the road and engine noise the mp3's are fine for me. Thumbs Up

I've actually got one MP3 CD that I've always used in slot 4 of my last two LRs. Only a cheap supermarket brand CD, it's survived the writing-off of my FL2 and it's barely been out of a car for nearly 5 years now but it's still going strong! Smile

I'm quite happy with the quality I get from them and can't tell much difference from a standard CD on my Logic 7 system. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

yea - totally right actually. I was thinking when your waiting on the kids at school etc. But the speakers in the car are just okay. I was just hoping to give them all I can to reproduce something you can stick.
