United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Ipanema Sand

In the last month I have driven Freelander 2, RRS 2011, Evoque and the new Disco Sport. The disco Sport had the best ride and my old Freely the second best. The RRS, on 20s, is harsh on rough roads, that's all of them in Suffolk, but excellent when crusing on motorways. The Evoque, on 19s, was harsh all the time.

My RRS is in dock at the moment for an alternator snag and Enterprise have given me a Kia Sorento, soft ride on 17s but OMG don't buy one!

A slight tangent, I have read some place, that fitting Disco suspension units improved the Sport ride??? In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I'm tempted to go and try one when the ingenium engine is available as a replacement for my rrs. The Disco Sport is a very good drive and well built. My issues were the cost and the effect the 7 seats have on the rear load space. You can't get a flat bed. It will sell well, and so it should but it would have been better with the seven seats as an option.

The Discovery Sport has only five seats if it is fitted with the optional Tow Pack, which raises the towing capability from 2200kg to 2500kg

Not heard of that but I do know that Disco drivers replace Disco bushes with RRS bushes to improve the handling. I understand that the D4 uses some RRS suspension (presumably bushes or damper settings) to improve the on road manners. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

That option doesn't come up on the "build you own" page on the Land Rover site.

I was told you are stuck with 7 seats on the UK version.

I'm sure it used to when the DS was launched. Perhaps no one was choosing it so LR scrapped it as an option? The 2.5t towing capacity was certainly something that set it apart from the crowd in the SUV market. I would consider a DS if I could have 2.5t towing capacity (for the horse box) and no +2 seating. Don't have kids so the +2 would never be used. A decent strong boot floor without gaps in it would be useful though.

It's symptomatic of LR these days. All fancy mood lighting and a host of "apps" etc. but the solid 4x4 stuff takes a back seat. I almost expect the Defender replacement to be available in a 2WD version! It would probably sell like hot cakes too... Big Cry

Edit: looking at the international site, the 5+2 seating is optional. Appears the UK is forced to have the +2 seating and lesser towing ability. Censored 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
