United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Java Black

Hi all, I did the day at Gaydon on Saturday morning with my X5 owning bro!

What can I say, absolutely awesome!

I now know what the SC guys have known all along ! and I so want one! It's more noisey inside than my TDV6 but I could live with that - just not the fuel bills.

We were the last in our group to leave for the on-road test drive around the country lanes as the guys who had the car before us didn't get out of second gear and arrived back 20 minutes later than the others in their group.

We were able to make up some time on the "course" and arrived back with the rest of our group! Needless to say the speedo was a little "hot" by the time we got back! We nearly got caught by the LR chase car too!! Very Happy

It was funny when I asked the LR driver to show me how to change the headlamps for driving abroad - I just couldn't find that damned lever in my car on my own and the manual is rubbish at showing you where it is. He lifted the bonnet of his 55 reg SC and I laughed as I observed that his FBH was missing! When I pointed it out to him, he didn't know what I was talking about until we opened up the 06 regged one for me to prove it to him!

Well done to LR, a great day, great people and an awesome ride around the "developing world" track by the young tall guy who made us both kack our pants!

My BMW X5 owning brother says he is gonna buy one when he wins the lottery!

Thanks LR It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!

I miss my old RRS "bucket" rattling around but it just had to go!

Maybe it is a TDV6 thing only!

Check out my gallery and see a shot I have uploaded there.

Sorry about the poor quality but there simply isn't enough room to get the camera further back to get a better shot. The lever is labelled open/close.

In the UK the lever is in the open position and closed when abroad (well that's what I have been told / shown).

Hope this helps. It's finally gone! Replaced with BMW 730SE in Sophisto grey Xirallic finish with Oyster (Ivory) and black interior. DAB, Climate glass, Ceramic iDrive and gear selector, power boot and iPhone Bluetooth pack - luvvin' it!
