SVR in the Wild!

So here it is and it is completely fabulous. Part down to "RRS" and part down to "SVR".

The dealership - Stratstone in Cheltenham did the handover very efficiently and kindly gave me a leather Land Rover holdall - a nice gesture - and 60 litres of fuel. They'd emptied the showroom so that the cars being delivered today have a sense of space:

Only disappointment is that the car has been built without the refrigerated centre console; salesman's error, he is seeing whether it can be retrofitted. It's a zero cost option but I don't know what it involves. Not especially happy about that to be honest.

Lots of paperwork to sign, a quick run through (very familiar from the Evoque I had) and then it was off.

Lunch at a favourite pub to celebrate...

Then a couple of pictures on the way home...

The car is wonderful; tight, no rattles or anything to make you think the build quality is anything other than 100%. Lots to comment on but for starters:

- The exhaust note is fantastic when you put your foot down
- Acceleration is epic, you just don't expect it to go like that
- Ride comfort on 21s as I expected, harder than my Evoque, think the 21s are the right choice for me
- Seats really comfortable, very happy with all black
- High-end Meridian stereo is fabulous, I was listening to Club des Belugas album SWOP
- the auto engine shut-off not as annoying as I thought it would be, a sensible delay before it happens
- Lane Departure is good, shakes the wheel as though you are driving over cats-eyes
- Blind spot monitoring good, yellow LEDs in the door mirrors
- Parking distance graphic really good, provides a 360 degree view
- Camera resolution much improved compared to the Evoque
- Sat Nav is still a bit slow but I am very used to it so I am happy with it, improved graphics

I had a flash back to the Goodwood video where people's head swivel as the SVR goes past. I slowed to let a car turn left and the group of pedestrians were open mouthed as I accelerated away. Just love it!

I'll post some more over the next days as I get used to it but the message is clear. This is a great car and if you have one on order, you are going to have a blast. Mark

Congratulations, the perfect SVR.
If i would order it, i would spec in exactly like you. Dont worry about the centre console, it is much bigger inside without the cooler function. For me its more important to have the bigger comfy storage instead of the (for me) less useful cooler.

Enjoy. Thumbs Up Bow down
