Hi, yes another well known problem. The electric door latches seem to lose their mojo with age (don't we all!). A new door latch used to be about £70 but then the @soles at JLRin charge of spares prices noticed they were selling lots so put the price up to about £100. If you search this site and the Disco3 site there are some great how to posts with pictures on how to replace the latches. I've only done the driver's door one on mine but I think I read the rear doors are a bit more fiddly. Definitely a possible DIY but you really need a nice warm day and just take your time. Good luck! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Is it worth fixing when it's so easy to get in without key and drive off

Hi mate I had to do a front door module its inside the door where the latch is. Very fiddly job had to remove the interior door card and the door glass and also the window mechanism which controls the glass up and down. Once this has all been removed you can then put your hand inside and unbolt the door module. |
