RRS, looking to buy, massively need advice!

Hi all, just joined the forum as it seems the obvious place to ask for advice from owners. I have been looking for a while now at purchasing a RRS as the Z4 can only carry me and my coat and feel the RRS fits the bill for the next car to get. I am trying to keep the budget down and have seen many 05/55/06 plates that seem ideal, however after reading reviews I have often seen that no one seems to rate the 05/55 and would love a bit of advice about what people would go for. Most have been high milers (90-110k) but with FSH and many with just 1 owner, I appreciate these are no cheap cars to run but if a turbo goes and they want 5k, ill cry before I put my hand in my pocket Big Cry

Many thanks Very Happy

Daily runner though not travelling too many miles a week, will likely purchase from a garage though shall seek extended warranty as a safe bet, I understand the tax is cheaper on the 05/55 model and obviously due to age are slightly cheaper to purchase, however, is there any real difference between that and say ... an 07/08 plate?

I'm kind if thinking it's the looks I've fell for Laughing so hard parting from the Z4 but the range seems like the only car I'd happily give it up for haha, just don't want to go buy an 05 if they are a lot less reliable then a 08 etc. X5 probably would be the sensible option but it's just not got the same presence as the RRS

At the risk of offending, if you're used to driving a hair dressers car and feel the need to by from JLR, buy an Evoque...... Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Nothing wrong with the Evoque if you just want a capable 4x4 and are not too bothered about boot space. Apparently the most reliable of LR's output so not a bad buy for those who want to avoid the big bills. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had an 06 RRS for 5 years - swapped it last year. Fantastic car, extremely capable. However, age & miles (100k) takes its toll and there is a lot - I mean a real lot - to go wrong and at that age its all wearing out. Suggest you get the newest / best / least used you can find and get really good warranty, and keep topping up the piggy bank as those bills will come and be eyewatering.
Only way I'd have another is if someone else (ie company) was paying - but the new ones a bit of a tarts palace so not for me. D2 - D3- RRS onwards & upwards !
