Insurance question after accident

My niece had an accident at the weekend and her car is costing £3000 to repair - the other party accepted liability after she saw the video evidence recorded by the car behind. Thank goodness for dash-cams and a very helpful witness.

She has asked me if she has to declare the repair if she trades her car in or is it 'buyer beware' ?. I recall being asked the question when we sold or RRS but wondered if this is standard practice by dealers nowadays or whether it will be routinely recorded by HPI in any case ? FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
Ex 2006 RRS SC - garbage

Nowadays a little crash repair is so expensive Shocked you said the car is repairable and at £3000 it can't be that much needed. With the repairs now you can't even tell. If it goes to an insurance approved bodyshop you don't need to say anything. Lots of people buy cars from dealers that have had body work repairs.

Usual thing applies - if they ask you a direct question then you must answer truthfully but you don't have to volunteer information that isn't directly requested. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

When you p/x a car the dealer is buying it from you; they will complete a buying-in form which will record mileage and any serious accident details.

You could auction it, then you would be advised to state if the car was 'seriously' damaged.

If its not 'serious' its your choice !
