United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver
Changing direction of headlights

Hi all
Looking for a bit of advise, I have a 2009 S/c RRS and am pretty sure I read on here that you can tilt the headlight for driving in Europe instead of using them reflectors on your head lights, as I am driving to Spain and France very soon.
Any help would be much appreciated

1. Remove the headlight
2. Undo the large cap
3. Move the adjusting lever that is next to the xenon ballast
4. Put back together and reinstall.

All covered in the owner's manual. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It's a five minute job. You need to remove the radiator grill between the headlights. It's a very firm pull on mine to get the bottom to release - the top just unclips quite simply. Take care of the top of the bumper as you do this if you worry about light scratches.

To remove the headlights you need to lift two catches - one at each end of the individual headlight unit. The easiest way to do this is with a loop of strong string/cord. Loop it under the lip of the clip and pull sharply upwards. You might need to fiddle a little to get the clips to line up the holes and pegs. It's obvious once you look at it. The headlights have one large electrical connector that you need to remove once you've pulled the headlight partially away from the wing. Fitting is the reversal of removal, as they say in the Haynes books.

Don't try to balance the headlights to try to save a few seconds. They're bulky to handle and expensive if dropped! I usually put a bit cloth on the driver's seat and sit the headlight on that whilst I access its internals.

I say again - the headlights are bulky and expensive so take care.

It's an easy job once you look at it. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Sweden 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HST Java Black

Hi guys.

Recently I went over to England for some
work on the car.

I didnīt have to remove the headlights at all,
just open the cover on the back of the headlight,
and the lever is very easy to locate on the side of the
ballast.

I did it in less that two minutes, on both sides.

The only thing to consider, be careful if the FBH is
going at full tilt, it gets hot!!

unless they are irresistible.
