Trailer damaged in collision

Towing my 3500Kg triaxle flat bed. Another car lost control and ended up on my side of the road, crash bang wallop. We were both OK. Anyhow, my car ended up on its side, with the trailer behind still on its wheels. My tow hitch on the car is a bit bent now.

My question is regarding the trailer coupling and draw bar.
Before I either do the work myself or call a man in, I need to understand a few more things.

The coupling head was rotated 90 deg after the prang , as it remained secured on hitch (car on side - trailer level), now I have always found there is a natural detent at about 30 degrees. is this significant. We rotated it back easily.
Has a sheer pin gone that I need to attend to

The drawbar seems straight as it will still slide and the damper appears to be working fine.
I do plan to renew the Avonride coupling head for my own piece of mind, a simple job.

I know many will say " get the pros on it" .
First I need to understand what may or may not be wrong. SDV6 HSE 2012 Black

Yes a right mess.
I always try to look on the bright side, I had dropped my car off and was running empty.
Waiting to hear if it is repairable ? SDV6 HSE 2012 Black

While the car is on it's side, are there any maintenance jobs you could do? Clean brake pipes or check bushes etc? Twisted Evil

I do hope that you did not stand on the seats to get out, you could really damage your seats if you were wearing boots. Laughing

Seriously though, glad your ok. Hope you get your car etc sorted. 2006 RRS SC Bonatti Grey (the 55th car/van I have owned)

I did have a squint at the undercarriage and you will be pleased to hear that it was not damaged, until the boy at the yard pulled it out for me with a forklift Big Cry SDV6 HSE 2012 Black

I do not see the Pug on its side, its driver opened their door and stepped out, you had to climb out.

You should be able to turn the towing head/hitch 360 degrees. It is a piston after all. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

And finally.
I have replaced the coupling head.
The draw bar and damper are good.
The car is a total loss. Big Cry

Glad you were not hurt and your trailer was empty. Destroying 2 cars in one go would send me over the edge.

What you going to replace the sport with? 2012 Evoque
2014 Sport Autobiography
2015 SVR for the fun stuff
2016 Evoque SI4 Dynamic Lux for the daily drive
2016 Defender 90
2018 SVR

I will stick with the RRS SDV6, just debating values with ins co.
I believe their first offer is simply the start of a conversation. SDV6 HSE 2012 Black
