England 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Siberian Silver

I remember once getting a plumbing quote from a guy and he turned up in a brand new jag XKR. It made me think he charged too much- but it should have made me think he was successful and obviously very good.

I said I know him. I didn't say I "hobnob" (whatever that means) with him. Perhaps you drive an RRS to impress, I have no idea. Your motives are private to you.

We don't have as much of a social class system like you do in England so impressing is not so important to most of us. Banging Head

Surely even you know the difference between the Oz and Scottish flag?
I did n0t look at your Avatar So glad you are not a Scot.We don't do things by halves in the UK ,we have Millionairs, Multi Millionairs and Billionairs. I drive a RRS not to impress, but for my own satifaction and enjoyment. I am in my 13th Year of retirement, and love it when people say "NICE" Car Mate. I am now reaping the rewards of my hard working life. itisme

Wow, I seem to have upset all of you (again)

I am definitely not a snob. I spend a lot of the time driving around in a 10 year old Subaru at weekends. But It doesn't matter much what I drive. I actually catch the bus to and from work.

The bloke who upped his mortgage for the RS5 is , funnily enough British, from Northumberland applying for residency through his work.Laughing

People round my way can be a bit funny over me in the sport. Not sure it is the cars fault, maybe that i am a young lady driving one is more the problem, usually grumpier older people who prehaps think i dont deserve it.

A work colleague jokes and calls me a Range Rover snob but says that anyone who makes snarky comments about owing a RR is only jealous they dont have one. If you were to offer them one they would bite your hand off.

Friends who know i like cars tell me they love it and those that are haters usually give me the stink eye but dont say anything.

Luckily for me , i dont care what people think. 2012 Evoque
2014 Sport Autobiography
2015 SVR for the fun stuff
2016 Evoque SI4 Dynamic Lux for the daily drive
2016 Defender 90
2018 SVR

I bought mine because I like it, don't give a stuff about other people. Thumbs Up

I usually have good comments, with people saying "what a lovely car!", and even had a bunch lads give me the thumbs up. Although I've had one person say, "lovely Evoque" Censored Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... I've only had mine a week but most of the comments have been complimentary or jokes about where I've left my petrol tanker. Only my brother-in-law had a negative slant on it... his tirade of insults was clearly the result of ingesting a large quantity of sour grapes. Ridiculous when you consider the fact that my RRS cost the same as a normal family car. Shocked

Anyway like a few others have said, I couldn't give a Censored what other people think of it. It makes me happy owning it and makes driving anywhere a pleasure - I even look forward to my drive to work now! Laughing

Life is far, far too short to be concerned about what others think of your car - buy whatever you want and enjoy it! Thumbs Up

Someone called mine a 'Lesbian RangeRover' the other day.

I've no idea how he came by that description Question I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.
