Put the baby seat behind the passenger seat. Thats whete my babies isofix base is as car seats these days are massive. Even behind the passenger seat it almost touches the back of the seat. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST. |

Sounds strange - the RRS is a big car and I have never had that problem mounting car seats in smaller cars like the 3-serie or 5-series but then I haven't used car seats with a fixed isofix base, they might be bigger. Why not check with the seller of your car seat if you have mounted it right. You would be better off mounting it on the passenger side as then you avoid having to be out in the traffic when you take your kid in and out of the car and if you driving you can more easily check up on the kid in the back seat if they are not behind you. The recommendation from the Road Safety Institute in Sweden (home safety obsessed people behind Volvo) is however that the rearward facing car seat is mounted in the front passenger seat with the airbag turned off, as it is the safest position and it is even easier for the driver to check up on the kid. 2015 Range Rover Sport HSE TDV6, Corris Grey |

Did you have a 'fitting' for the seat or just buy it? Certain car seats are a better fit in certain cars.

The Isofix system does have a two stage track as i'm sure you know... so make sure the back of the baby seat is flush against

I had the same system in my RRS until my daughter grew out of it and now has the toddler version. I only ever fitted it behind the passenger seat for the safety/practical reasons already mentioned. Also need to consider if you did manage to drive with it behind the driving seat not to damage the seat back with when "comfort access" reclines it when exiting. SOLD - 15 plate Estoril SVR

Bruntyy I'm 6"3 and have the same base and baby carrier /seat and I'm a little squashed in the driver seat now too I have to have the driver seat further forward now than I would without the seat behind me, the rear leg room is a lot less that u think in these cars it's annoying Java black 2006 |

Why not get a not too expensive used "baby car" for a couple of years for the Mrs to drive and keep the poo and nappies out of the nice new RRS? |

Had a similar problem in our 2012 x5. The 2014 x5 fits it great though. I'm gonna be going down to our dealer this week now tho as if I can't fit the maxi cosi family fix base in without killing the leg room in the front then I may cancel the order! |
