Mio MiVue 538 - Anyone tried one?

Anyone tried one of these?

Was going to get a Pogo Alert but they've been out of stock for weeks... this is both a Dash Cam and a Speed Camera detector. Seems like a good buy especially as I can't put speed camera data on the in-built SatNav...

Would the heated windscreen cause any issues, either with me sticking something to it or blocking the GPS?

I've got it in 3 of my trucks and find them very good (comparing to DOD ls400w which failed, one immediately, another after few months).

I have read very good feedback before buying and decided to get them due to quality of view and reliability.
It does have screen so you can see what's being recorded.
It also movement-triggered recording option which would be usefull when vehicle is unattended and someone hits it. HOWEVER battery lasts on few minutes!! so unless you have it connected permanently, it wont work for you. Which is shame.

generally good camera for good money (around 150quid incl vat from Currys)

Thanks for replying - did you have the one with the speed camera feature by any chance - if so what was it like?

Not really bothered about the battery, I'd be looking to hardwire it in anyway - I hate having cables trailing everywhere Smile

It alarms you when approaching a speed camera and you drive over a limit.
You may set it up 2mph below the limit.
Not sure how reliable is their database, So far it picks all of them in London.

Btw. Get yourself at least 16 or even 32GB memory card and divide the space properly(in settings) otherwise once "emergency recording" is full, it take other space.

Sounds like it covers all the bases I need then - thanks for the tip about setting up the card too!
