Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Yes i agree a huge degree of luck needed. I will be checking the oil and filters out very soon, first thing for me to do is get the blank kit ordered for the EGR Valves. I believe that they are the main reason for my problems to date.
I will order the complete kit and remove both the pipes and butterfly valve/flap from the intake, i can then give everything a good clean and go from there.

Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Just a quick update, I have today fitted the egr valve blanks and removed the pipes and butterfly flap. On start up all good and all was good on test drive.
Will see if all is OK on a cold morning start up and drive to work, last week she did it twice on the way to work.
I did notice that there was a bit of old dirty oil around the intake, when I removed the pipe to get at the butterfly flap I noticed that the oil had been leaking from the pipe. They had not fitted the pipe correctly at some point which may have contributed to my problems. I have also noticed that the air filter box was not sitting correctly and that they had not changed the air filter like they said they had before I purchased my RRS. What else have they not done?
Repositioned the air box and rubber boot that goes into the front wing. I will however carry out my own service very soon.
So I have my fingers crossed ready for the early morning drive into work and hopefully I will have no problems.

Cheers
Mike Smile

Hi Nav01 she is running like a dream. No issues today at all, should be a bit colder in the morning so will see how it goes then. Hopefully she will be fine, just need to get a service done now as I no longer believe that the garage did a service as they claim too. They may have fitted new brake pads front and rear ( with 22" 5 spoke alloys its hard to lie about something you can physically see) but I think they stopped short of a full service.
I will now do a service myself as I have a back ground in mechanics ( Ford Trained technician) although I no longer work on automobiles but on commercial aircraft engines for a living.

Cheers all

Here is the update the on loss of power i was experiencing when pulling away when cold, it's a bit late but here it is.
No problems whats so ever since EGR Valve blanks and pipe removal was carried out back in January, RRs is running like a dream and is going in for Timing belts to be changed next week. Not getting the improved MPG that some people have experienced though, which is a little disappointing.

Cheers All
Thanks for all your help
Mike
