Dash mount for a tablet RRS2011

Hi all,

I'd like to use my trusted old Asus Transformer with the Sygic software to replace RR's own navigation. Where can I find a dash mount to accomodate the tablet (10.1")? Windshield-mounted suction cups do not hold in this constant heat.

Thanks for any tips! RRS SC 2011 for fun

Oman 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

Morning SB!!

Where on the dash are you trying to mount the tablet? Will it be a permanent installation or do you want it removable?

Also, I think with the size of a 10 inch tablet you will have difficulty finding a location on the dash where your can install it without it a) looking out of place and b) blocking your forward view over the bonnet.

The problem you will have is that suction cups won't work anywhere on the dash in the heat, I've tried here in Oman and they will hold for as much as a day or as little as 5 minutes... Therefore I think you will need to look at a more permanent mount, at least for the bracket.

Cheers

What you need is a Brodit mount. I always fit one in all ny vehicles and they are brilliant. Thumbs Up 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Hello Guy,

Thanks for your interest in my trivial problem.

I'm only using the tablet occasionally when venturing out to the Spanish mountain areas for weekend trips. The Sygic software is superior to anything I have seen so far. Their lifetime European license sells for 25€ and includes free updates on both maps and speed cameras. Unbeatable!

I'd hate to pay Land Rover some 150€ plus thisandthat for a mediocre maps update. RRS SC 2011 for fun

Hi JasM,

Looking at the no-nonsense design and knowing these are Swedish quality I have no doubt about where to buy. Fantastic instructions, too.

Thanks a million.

Brodit wouldn't sell me a mount, said my Asus is too heavy for their product!

So I got myself a modern Nexus 9 tablet and a mount that puts the tablet's camera lens above the dashboard. My Sygic navigation software has a new feature - The Black Box - which turns the tablet into a full-blown dash camera. This app set me back 5 euros, which is not too much really... RRS SC 2011 for fun
